Seventh Grade Program
Touring the Watershed

Students embark on an exploration of the abiotic factors influencing the Ingram Pond Watershed by canoe.  While canoeing students test the abiotic factors of the pond with adopted water quality tests and inspect land use around the pond ecosystem.  Returning to the classroom, students convert collected data to scores in order to draw conclusions as to the health of the pond ecosystem.

Diversity of Living Things

Students don hip waders and travel to a nearby stream below the pond to collect macro and micro invertebrates for laboratory study.  Returning to the Ingram Pond Lab, students classify organisms, identifying the structure/function relationships of their adaptations.  Students record the diversity of organism in their sample to draw conclusions as the health of the stream ecosystem.
