Construction and Renovations
An overview of recent IRSD construction projects

The Indian River School District has completed most of the construction projects approved by residents in a major capital improvement referendum on January 29, 2013.

Work is complete at North Georgetown, East Millsboro and Long Neck elementary schools, which each received eight new classrooms during Phase One of the initiative. Students and teachers moved into the new rooms in the spring of 2015.

Phase Two construction projects began in March 2015. Work on two new classrooms and a reconfigured exterior entrance and driveway at Selbyville Middle School was completed in August 2015. The new classrooms are currently in use.

Work is complete at the Georgetown Elementary School/Georgetown Middle School complex, which received eight new classrooms and a new kitchen. The classrooms and kitchen are now in use at the facility.

Work at Phillip C. Showell Elementary School, which received four new classrooms, was completed in February 2016 and the new classrooms are in use.

In addition, the district has constructed pole buildings at three schools for additional storage. Pole buildings at Phillip C. Showell, Long Neck and North Georgetown elementary schools are complete.
